Dr. Jenneke Visser is working to construct a wetland research facility in Cade, Louisiana.  Eight research ponds will be fitted with in-situ probes that can measure stage, salinity, temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen in the water column.  In addition, sediment elevation tables have been purchased and will be installed when boardwalks to access the center of each wetland are installed.  Dr. Visser and colleagues in Geology and Biology will use these wetlands for teaching about wetland processes, wetland monitoring, geochemistry, and soils.  These facilities will be great for student research projects!
